The PAR  or  Philippine Area of Responsibility is the area where the Philippines meteorological agency, PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration) monitors all of the meteorological activity. It is bounded by six points as listed below:

  •    25°N 120°E
  •    25°N 135°E
  •    5°N 135°E
  •    5°N 115°E
  •    15°N 115°E
  •    21°N 120°E

This boundary includes even the island of Taiwan and a part of the Okinawa prefecture on the northern side, a part of Sabah, Malaysia on the southwestern corner, and the islands of Palau on the southeastern side.
